Brooks & Heather

I had an awesome opportunity to experience my first wedding as a second shooter. I've never thought of myself heading in the direction of weddings as a specialty, it's never truly interested me if I'm totally honest (and I am). But after hanging with Jackie I can now say I'm beginning to understand why so many photographers head in this direction! I could totally get caught up in the magic... and I did!

The main reason why I'm not interested in weddings as a photographer is I'm terrified of ruining some one's special day. It's not like a family session or child session where, if push came to shove you could re-shoot, it's the day. It's the most important day for little girls who grow up into beautiful brides. It's the day that people witness magic in the making. It's intimate and sacred. Until I'm very proficient in my craft, don't expect me to be handling any of these days solo (but I will gladly second, third or fourth shoot)!!

I was lucky enough to work with Jackie (who is a great wedding photographer I can recommend to anyone in the SoCal area) which took a lot of the stress off of me to capture the moments. I can't lie, many of my (hundreds) of images are not worth the space they took up on my cards or currently taking up residency on my hard drive, but I did manage to salvage a few. These, I'll share...

Brooks & Heather opted for a first look and I can only imagine how Brooks felt, because Heather took my breath away with her amazing grace and beauty!

They couldn't take their eyes off each other!

Thanks again, Jackie, for the experience!
