Bless you - you didn't sneeze? Ah... "Haiku"!
OK, so here we go... For those of you burning to share your photographic flare pick a haiku. Choose one haiku and illustrate it using your photograph. Your photo should not be a literal rendering of the words of the poem but an illustration of what the poem is talking about under and over the specific words. In other words you should try to illustrate not just what the poems SAYS but what it MEANS, at least, what it means to you.
#1
Dew evaporate
And all out world is dew...
So dear, so fresh, so fleeting
#2
For a lovely Bowl
Let us arrange these flowers
Since there is no rice
#3
A dying ember
In the abandoned cat. Love
and the need for love
#4
Up close, at the place
Where spider's leg lays his line
There seems no design
#5
A bee in a web,
Whirring its one free wing
In spurts of hope.
#6
Need Friends ever speak?
There's tea to taste and windsong
From the garden trees
#7
On nearing the surf,
Every footprint becomes
That of the sea.
#8
An abandoned board -
Shaping, sunning, becoming
A Shangri La for bugs
Because this is my final for my class I would like everyone to hold off posting pictures until after I have submitted mine or at least figured out which poem and picture I want to use! I would hate to see someones work and then be influenced on either the poem or inspired by the picture. Let's set the submission date for Wednesday August 6th. Please email entries to me at jsyclebrun@yahoo.com with "Haiku" in the subject line. Make sure to tell me which haiku you chose and the details of your picture.
If we get enough entries I'll post them to be voted on!
Good luck and go get inspired!!
