Showing YOU some LOVE- it's a CONTEST!
Brielle has been working very closely with me on creating her very own Valentine's Day Card and this is our final edition! We poured through her photos from our mini sessiona nd she hand picked each picture. It was funny listening to her critique herself and explaining why one picture was better over the other! Here are a few of her thoughts:
"This one is too grumpy..."
"I look too CRAZY in this one!"
I think I might save this one for her future boyfriends just as a warning that she is... a little... ummm... crazy!

That card is so stinking cute! You and Brielle did a fabulous job!
What a great idea!!! So here goes.... my sophmore year Valentine's Day, my boyfriend was a senior and on the swim team. I showed up to school in the morning and he handed me a piece of paper cut out like a puzzle with some words written on it. I was confused and he said, "just wait." In my first period class, in walked two guys from the swim team with two long stem roses and another puzzle piece with words on it. As you can guess, all 6 periods of my day had "special guests" from the swim team, carrying 2 roses and a puzzle piece. By the end of the day I had a dozen long, stem roses and a complete puzzle. The words, all together, turned out to be a poem he had written making sure my heart was his. Awww, shucks!
That is a totally true story and I am not lying!!!!!
What a great idea! I'd love to learn from these DVD's! They look awesome!
Here's my V-day story, although a little non-traditional....
My hubby is a navy man. He fly's for a living, which absolutely terrifies me. Early on in our marriage we decided not to celebrate Valentine's day. Who needs to be told what day to show your love on? Instead, we use the day as an annual reminder to love each other every day, because while you never want to think about it, the unimaginable is always that lump in the back of your throat, making each "I love you" that much more important. So, while I don't get roses on February 14th, I did get flowers a few weeks ago because a port day changed and we were both a little bummed about not seeing each other. I do get emails titled "Hey Beautiful". I do get breakfast in bed every Sunday when he is home, and I do get the occassional night where we curl up in bed and talk until the sun comes up. In our life it's the little things that make us fall head over heels for each other and Valentine's Day just serves as that reminder to keep trying, every day so that there is no question how much I love him, and how much he loves me.
What an opportunity, hope I win the DVDS! Before I begin I must preface this by telling you we were in college and had little to no money. Anyway, I arrived home from work that afternoon to find Jarrod cooking a nice meal. (Awesome!)After giving him a kiss, he says, "Did you see the note on the picture over the couch?" I quickly run to the living room and see the post-it note on the picture that tells me to go look on the bed. Dashing to the bedroom I'm overcome with excitement. On the bed is a note telling me to to check the bathroom mirror. "WOW" I'm thinking I can't believe he thought to do a treasure hunt, this is sooo much fun. So I continue to go from post-it to post-it for about 10 minutes. I know I have to be getting closer so when the last post-it directs me to the little cat house, I can hardly contain myself. So I peek in the cat house and you will never believe what was waiting for me.....KIWI STRAWBERRY SHAVE GEL!!!...Are you freaking kidding me?!?!?! I was so angry at him. He made me go on this elaborate treasure hunt for some damn shave gel. He couldn't understand why I was mad. I suppose he thought shave gel was a great indulgence. Well, despite the disappointment we had a nice meal and good laugh.
Wil and I call each other, "Sweetie Pie Honey Bunches of Oats," when he was at TBS (remember those days Yvonne?) for Valentine's Day all he had time to do was stop at the Food Lion. So he got me, you guessed it, a pie and a box of Honey Bunches of Oats cereal. It was so sweet, creative, and personal.
Hmmmm Valentines day has always been pretty uneventful for me. I never was the girl who got flowers (once I got a dozen).
But, one Valentines day my boyfriend and I went to Vancouver to walk around, do some shopping and just be together on Valentines day. We were planning on getting married, had the ring but he had no proposed. I knew he was going to but when? I...being as dificult as I am asked him not to do it in public, I thougt I might faint. Then entire day and evening went by and I was so nervous the entire time! As we were getting in the car to drive home, he reached in the glove box and pulled out the ring. He didn't ask me. So I told him if he wanted an answer he had to ask me. (romantic right.) anyway... he did and it was a nice memory. So now on Valentine's day I think of it as a good day, not a crumby one.
